Employment Opportunities

Farm Assistant

Our flower farm is expanding and we are looking for an energetic, hard-working individual with farming experience to join our team this season. The farm assistant will work alongside the head farmer and another assistant to accomplish the daily and long-term tasks of running a flower farm. This position is in South Brunswick, NJ and runs from June through September.

The position requires availability for 5-10 hours per week with additional hours available for large harvests on weekends and if help is needed at our weekly farm market. The schedule will vary somewhat with the growing season: for instance we generally start earlier when the weather gets hot and on harvest days.  Standard hours are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There may be days when employees are asked to stay late to get a time sensitive job completed (say a big harvest before a major rain event). Farming generally is not a 9 to 5 job and flexibility is required!!  But we do our best to respect everyone’s time and stick to as normal a schedule as we can.

Candidates don’t need to be physical superstars, but they should possess a certain level of fitness and ability to handle physical work, day-in and day-out in all kinds of weather (think moving compost, broad forking, digging holes).

The salary for this position is $17/hr.
